Notes:

  1. The name for A.E.S. Dumas’ second wife is unknown. It is believed to be Coker.
  2. Alson Edgar Seborn Dumas was 5 months old when his father, Alson Elhanan Seborn Dumas died.

     

  3. The 1850 Census for Houston, Mississippi shows a John Cook and Mary Anne Coker. After Alson Elhanan Seborn Dumas died, John Cook, a cousin?, took custody of Alson Edgar Seborn Dumas. Where was his mother, Mary Anne?
  4. When John Cook died, Joel A. Parker petetioned  for guardianship of A.E.S Dumas in 1859 stating that in effect, he had been acting as the legal guardian for some time.
  5. The 1860 Census of Houston, Mississippi shows a Joel A. Parker, Mary Anne Parker (wife) and A.E.S.  It can be assumed that Mary Anne Parker and Mary Ann Coker are the same and that Mary Ann Parker could have been the mother of A.E.S. Dumas.
